low gluten diet
Can anybody suggest a weeks diet for me?

I have IBS so all breads and gluten need to be left out. I don’t eat gluten free products as they taste and have the texture of cardboard lol.

It alsop needs to be low in calories but sufficient for a work out routine 3/4 times per week. Haven’t decided on work out yet but more than likely it will be sit ups, swimming and jogging throughout the week.

I have IBS too and i ask the doctor about this diet and he said it would be ok for me, but everyone if different so ask your doctor first, it is on the one of the adverts on yahoo, it is an acai berry and colon cleanser diet apparently you can lose loads, i am going to try it, because i am in a wheelchair and can’t exercise like i used too so i am going to try this, so i will let you know if it works.

Ask your doctor about it first. The advertisement is a lady with a big belly in one window and a thin belly in the other if you click on it, it will bring the website up and you can read all about it.

Oh i also did the weight watchers diet before i got ill and lost 2,1/2 stone in just under a year that was a good diet too.

potato gluten free
Basic Gluten free pizza dough receipe?

Does anyone have a Gluten free pizza dough receipe for perhaps potato flour. Just basic you know eggs milk that sort of thing. I dont need it to rise it can be a thin pizza receipe. Cheers

One of the all time most-missed foods for Celiacs and persons that must adhere to a gluten-free diet is pizza. I know that I personally suffered withdrawal symptoms and anxiety when I was told I would not be able to eat my favorite Chicago deep-dish pizza, or my favorite Denver thick-crust pizza from Beau Jo’s, or even my local favorite Donte’s Pizza here in Cleveland, Ohio. Pizza was a large part of my life back in the pre-Celiac and pre-gluten-free days, and I have longed for a wonderful replacement that fits into the GF diet.

I have tried a few different purchased glutenfree pizza crusts and pizza dough mixes over the years, and none really made me think I was eating real pizza. My wife has worked on various pizza-crust replacements, and came up with some decent ones that used a batter approach for quick and easy iron-skillet pizza crusts, and more of a dough-type thin-crust sheet-pizza type recipe. These were fine, but admittedly not nearly the same as the “real” thing.

1¼ Cups Cornstarch
¾ Cup Millet Flour
2 Cups White Rice Flour
¼ Cup Teff Flour
1½ Tablespoons Xanthan Gum
1½ Teaspoons Salt
¼ Teaspoon Dried Oregano
¼ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 Package Active Dry Yeast
1 Teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 Tablespoon Honey
1/3 Cup Vegetable Oil
2 Eggs
1 Egg White
1¾ Cups Warm Water (110-115°)Yield: dough for two 12 inch round pizzas.

Directions
Place Cornstarch, flours, Xanthan gum, salt, oregano, garlic powder and yeast in mixing bowl; mix. Add, vinegar, sugar, honey, oil, eggs, egg white and lastly the warm water; mix. Increase mixing speed to high, and beat for 4 minutes.

Coat your pizza pans with cooking spray. Dough will be a bit difficult to work with (sticky). Work the dough out as best as possible with a spatula. I then spray surface of pizza dough with cooking spray (very light coating). Finish spreading the pizza dough out with hands – if still to sticky, try using a small piece of parchment paper or wax paper sprayed with cooking spray to help spread the dough. Form the dough around the edge of the pizza thicker than the inner region in order to create a nice edge/crust.

Allow to sit in a warm, dry location (free of drafts) covered loosely with plastic wrap for 40 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375° and pre-bake crusts for 20 minutes.

Remove pizza crusts from oven. Increase oven temperature to 400°.

Add pizza sauce, cheese and any other desired toppings to the pizza crusts and then place back in oven for an additional 20 minutes (note: if using sausage or other raw meat, it should be precooked before adding to pizza).

Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before cutting. Your wonderful and delicious gluten-free pizzas should look something like this:
